Should You Read One-Star Reviews? A common topic in writerly circles is whether or not authors should read bad reviews of their work on Amazon, Goodreads, and elsewhere. Just for clarification, when I say bad review, I mean a one- or -two-star review, though I know some might consider three stars to be "bad" as well. I've seen compelling arguments for both sides of the debate, and I have my own opinions (a subject for another time). In this post, however, I want to focus not just on bad reviews but REALLY bad reviews. The one-star reviews. It may seem like I'm splitting hairs, but in my experience, the bottom of the review barrel is a category all its own.

It is still income you earned from working even if you choose to be paid in money that can only be spent on Amazon.com, so it is still taxable. Hi All, I'm doing Mturk tasks for the sole purpose of extra cash, where I intend to just purchase gifts through Amazon gift cards online. I know those of you who make a ton and transfer to banks will need file taxes on your earnings. Will I also need to file taxes, even if I only intend to transfer earnings to gift cards? Thanks in advance, great community here :D

It was a Facebook ad that helped Eli Reiter stumble upon this underground part of the internet. "I was curious and I clicked it and essentially it offered me a free chair if I offer a five-star review," explained Reiter, a freelance journalist and student based in Chicago.
